Bolgheri is a village in the Alta Maremma located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, in province of Livorno, in the Tuscany

region "Gherardesca and Bolgheri. In the past, this double name was carried by one of the communities of the Pisan Maremma, now distinct from that of Castagneto. All those localities were as many fiefdoms of the illustrious prosapia of the Gherardesca Counts".

The avenue of cypresses of Bolgheri is undoubtedly one of the most famous oenological postcards of all Italy; already famous for the famous ode composed by Carducci, it is the symbol of a terroir that has been able to transform itself in just 50 years, becoming an icon of quality and excellence in the world.

Bolgheri Rosso DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) Donna Olimpia 1898 is an intense ruby-garnet red wine with purplish reflections obtained from Cebernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Frenc grapes produced produced on the Donna Olimpia 1898 estate.

The name of Donna Olimpia 1898 is in honor of Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca, who baptized the estate in 1898 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their wedding.
